First of all, we want to say thank you for your past support of Lakewood Young Life. You have made a difference in our community! It’s time again….in just over 2 months, Lakewood Young Life will be teeing off for the sake of kids in our 4th Annual Golf Tournament. We can’t believe it is already the 4th year to involve the community in such a worthwhile charitable event. This year, the tournament will be played on Thursday, May 6th with a 1pm shotgun start. It will be held again at the beautiful Tenison Highlands Golf Course. Our hope is that this tournament will be a chance for you who have played with us in the past and made it such a memorable day, to invite a new friend or foursome to join you. Our goal is to have 40 brand new players, along with all of our returning amazing friends. For every man or woman who recruits a foursome of new faces, they will receive a special prize. Remember, we provide lunch and dinner, awards and prizes.
We are also excited to offer the marathon opportunity again for you die-hard golfers. All you have to do is ask your friends and family to sponsor you for a total of $1000. That means you can get 10 people to each give $100 or 20 people to each give $50, etc. You get the picture. It is easy and so much fun. You will be invited to play a morning round of golf at Tenison on May 6th, be served breakfast, get a special “marathon golfer” shirt, and play in the afternoon shotgun for free. Seriously, can you think of a better way to spend a Thursday in May?
As it is with any charitable event, we are trying to raise money to keep Lakewood Young Life a full-functioning ministry. This tournament is being used to help make up our deficit for 2010. We wanted to get this letter to you as early as possible to give you time to discuss this with your leadership team as you identify events to sponsor this year. Please feel free to go to www.younglife.org to see just what Young Life is all about and how it is impacting our community by reaching kids for Christ. This is a wonderful way to maximize the return on your marketing budget while doing something good for the community. Your sponsorship of at least $250, will include at minimum:
ü Name on sign or banner
ü At least 1 free golfer in the tournament
ü Chance to display flyers, cards, or freebies
ü 100% tax deductible (after subtracting value of benefits received)
ü Chance for you to give away free stuff, market your products and be in front of 100+ business and community leaders from the Lakewood area
ü Opportunity for you and your team members to have a fun Thursday afternoon on the golf course
Another way to sponsor the event is to give merchandise, tickets, gift certificates, or services we can use as prizes, which are also tax deductible.
